The Image Difference Checker performs a pixel-by-pixel comparison of two images and highlights exactly where they differ. It is useful for designers checking mockup revisions, developers verifying screenshot regression tests, or anyone who needs to spot subtle edits between two versions of a photo or graphic. Three viewing modes — slider, overlay, and diff map — let you inspect differences at a glance or in fine detail.
Upload original
Drop or click to upload your first (original) image into the left panel. Supports PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF, BMP, and TIFF — up to 10 MB per image.
Upload modified
Upload the second (modified) image into the right panel.
Compare & explore
Click "Compare Images" then switch between Slider, Overlay, and Diff views to inspect changes.
- Both images should be the same dimensions for a pixel-accurate result.
- Use Diff view to detect subtle pixel-level changes that are hard to spot in the slider.
- Very large images (above 10 MB) may take a few seconds to process — resize if you only need to compare a region.
UI and design QA between mockup versions
When a designer delivers a revised mockup, it can be hard to spot every pixel-level change by eye. Upload the original and updated PNG or JPEG side by side and use the Highlight view to instantly see every changed region glowing against a neutral background. This is especially useful for catching unintended color shifts, moved elements, or typography changes that happen during export.
Screenshot regression testing
After deploying a frontend change, compare before-and-after screenshots of the same page to verify nothing broke visually. The similarity percentage gives you a quick pass/fail signal, while the Diff view pinpoints the exact pixel regions that changed — useful for catching CSS regressions, font rendering differences across browsers, or layout shifts introduced by a dependency update.
Verifying print and production proofs
Printers, publishers, and packaging teams routinely need to confirm that a final production file matches an approved proof. Upload both files, switch to the Slider view to drag across the comparison, and use the Flicker mode to rapidly toggle between them — the human eye is very sensitive to flicker, which makes it the fastest way to spot any difference in color, text position, or image placement.
Checking photo edits and retouching work
When reviewing photo editing work from a retoucher, the Fade view lets you blend between the original and edited image to feel the extent of the changes. The Details panel shows the similarity percentage and file metadata (dimensions, file size, format), which helps you confirm that the exported file matches the agreed resolution and color space.
A/B test and ad creative comparison
Marketing teams often work with dozens of ad creative variants that differ only in small details — a headline font, a button color, a cropped hero image. Upload two variants and use the Highlight view with the sensitivity slider to tune how aggressively small differences are marked, so you can focus on the intentional changes and ignore JPEG compression artifacts.
