Frequently asked questions
Do I need a unique key or formulas?
No formulas. The tool compares rows positionally, so sorting both files the same way is what matters. A unique key column just makes sorting reliable.
Why does every row look changed?
Almost always because the two files are sorted differently. Sort both by the same column before comparing and only genuine changes will remain highlighted.
Which formats are supported?
CSV, TSV, and Excel (.xlsx, .xls). You can even compare a CSV against an Excel file — both are parsed into a grid and compared cell by cell.
